MAYOR 'WRAPS UP' WATFORD KEY WORKER HOUSING SCHEME

Watford Mayor Dorothy Thornhill poured the final section of concrete at the recent Topping Out ceremony on the 164 unit key worker housing scheme which runs around the Rookery End of the Vicarage Road Stadium.
In the traditional ceremony, which is used to bless new buildings with good fortunes, the mayor spoke of the development as providing much-needed housing for the town as part of a new multi-million pound health campus.
TTH Project Architect, John McAskie said that it was ‘rewarding to see the unique mixture of affordable housing and football ground partnership nearing completion’.
The development which has been christened ‘The Wrap’ runs around the Rookery End of the Vicarage Road Stadium and forms part of the proposed £32.5m redevelopment of the area, including 164
Keyworker/social housing 1 & 2 Bed apartments to the rear of the South stand at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium which due for completion spring 2010.
